Lisa Roese: Integrative Therapist

As a Counsellor, Coach, Neuromuscular Therapist and Yoga Teacher my skills span the spectrum of physical, mental and emotional health. I use a multi-modality approach to support my clients in attaining wellness on every level. 

Through years of experience and specialised training in Functional Anatomy, Physiology, Yoga, Therapeutic Massage and various forms of Somatic Therapy I’ve developed my own style of body work which I term Neuromuscular Therapy. During treatments I aim to alleviate pain and tension by improving musculoskeletal, circulatory and neurological functioning. I vary pressure and technique according to individual requirements and focus on specific conditions, areas of tension or the body as a whole. 

I am one of 100 Therapeutic Massage Therapists registered with The Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa: https://ahpcsa.co.za/. I am also a member of The Board of Health Care Funders, this implies that clients are eligible for medical aid benefits. In addition, I am registered with the Massage Therapy Association which is working toward the recognition of Therapeutic Massage Therapy as a profession in South Africa: http://mtasa.co.za/  

As well as practicing Neuromuscular Therapy I have been a volunteer Group Facilitator and Counsellor at a prominent NGO for the past 10 years. More recently I’ve facilitated Self Development Workshops and Team Coaching for Businesses in a private capacity. Having studied Psychology, Counselling and Coaching I use a combination of disciplines to assist people in transforming personal challenges into growth opportunities. Counselling addresses personal difficulties by exploring emotional issues and past experiences that may restrict potential, whilst Coaching focuses on personal or career goals and designing steps that lead to their realization.
